Mosharraf Karim's much-anticipated second Tollywood film, 'Hubba,' is set to hit theaters on January 19. Directed by renowned Kolkata filmmaker Bratya Basu, the movie is based on the life of 'Hubba Shyamal,' a notorious terrorist from Hooghly, West Bengal. 'Hubba' delves into the evolving political landscape and the criminal underworld, with Mosharraf Karim portraying the titular role.
The recently unveiled trailer provides a glimpse into the criminal activities of Hubba Shyamal, who orchestrates murders over trivial matters and celebrates each killing with a party. Hubba holds sway over the drug trade and extortion. Accompanying the trailer, the movie's title song was released on Monday, featuring vocals by Silajit Majumdar and Dhee Majumdar. The lyrics, a collaboration between Suprotim Sarkar and Bratya Basu, were set to music by Prabuddha Banerjee.
Scheduled for simultaneous release in Bangladesh and West Bengal on January 19, efforts are underway by Bangladeshi production house and distribution company Jaaz Multimedia to import the film.
Following Mosharraf Karim's 'Hubba' in January, the Tollywood film 'Bhoot Pori,' starring Jaya Ahsan, is slated for release on February 9. Directed by Soukarya Ghosal, the movie explores themes of fear and mystery surrounding ghosts. The motion poster, recently revealed, features Jaya Ahsan sitting on a tree branch with wings on her back. Sharing the poster on her Facebook page, Jaya pondered, ‘Humans become ghosts when they die, but if a ghost dies, would he become an angel?’
Despite completing the shooting before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, 'Bhoot Pori' faced delays in release due to various complications. The film, with Soukarya Ghosal serving as both director and screenplay writer, boasts a stellar cast including Ritwick Chakraborty, Sudipta Chakraborty, Shantilal Mukherjee, and others.
