ACT-Bangladesh, the country’s first theatre organization dedicated to climate awareness, officially launched on Friday at the rooftop of Tagore University of Creative Arts, Uttara. The event featured a theatrical performance titled Drought in the Fate of Farmers and a discussion session, Echoes of Earth, focused on climate action and advocacy.
The launch was attended by Professor Dr. Syed Mohammad Shahed, Vice-Chancellor of Tagore University of Creative Arts, as the chief guest. Other notable guests included Esther Ferry-Kennington, Chair of the UK-based Lancashire Arts Network for Developing Sustainability (LANDS), Robin Lyons, Co-artistic Director of Ergon Theatre Company, Dr. Sydur Rahman Lipon, Chairman of the Department of Theatre at Tagore University, and Dr. Shahman Moishan, Associate Professor of the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Dhaka.
